The third annual API Mauritius & Indian Ocean Property Investment Forum drew over 300 stakeholders to the InterContinental Hotel in Balaclava on June 26, 2025. This flagship gathering, with PropertyCloud among its key partners, brought together international investors, developers, and industry leaders from across 15 countries under the compelling theme "A Resilient Dawn."

The Hon. Jean Sydney Pierre, Deputy Minister of Tourism, engaged in high-profile discussions with real estate expert Kevin Teeroovengadum. Their conversation explored key factors driving Mauritius's attractiveness as an investment destination while addressing the urgent need to align hotel offerings with evolving traveler expectations.

International Hospitality Giants Share Vision

The forum featured senior development executives from global hospitality leaders who consistently emphasised the transition towards sustainable development. Govind Mundra from Wyndham Hotels & Resorts detailed innovative asset-light models, including branded residences and rental pool resorts that reduce upfront capital requirements for developers.

Jugal Khushalani from Marriott International and Ramsay Rankoussi from Radisson Hotel Group joined discussions on eco-certified hotels and green building practices. Neil George from Aleph Hospitality contributed insights on community-integrated experiences and sustainable tourism development.

Wayne Godwin, CEO of JLL Africa, expressed optimism about increased international investor focus on Mauritius, particularly from Middle East and Indian markets. Vincent Hardy, Group CEO of Mont Choisy Group, participated in panel discussions examining mixed-use developments and co-development opportunities.

Kevin Teeroovengadum moderated sessions focusing on post-Budget 2025 insights and millionaire migration opportunities, providing expert analysis on policy impacts.
