Heba Capdevila will be the new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Medine as from October 2025. The announcement was made a few days ago.

Capdevila brings twenty-five years of leadership experience in logistics, manufacturing, industrial operations, and construction. She has worked extensively in strategic transformation and organisational development.

Currently, she serves as CEO of Cementis Group, a subsidiary of Taylor Smith Investment, overseeing operations in Mauritius, Reunion, Mayotte, Comoros, Madagascar, and Seychelles. She joined Taylor Smith Group as Chief Operating Officer before becoming CEO of Cementis. Her move to Medine marks a transition between two separate corporate entities.

Regional Leadership Experience

Capdevila has been an Independent Non-Executive Director at CIEL Group since October 2022. She contributes to audit and risk governance and has held board positions at other Mauritian companies.

She holds a Master of Science in Organisational Development from a UK university. Before settling in Mauritius in 1995, she lived and worked in Chile, Spain, Oman, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Her professional track record shows expertise in leading companies through transformation phases. At Cementis, she drove operational improvements across six Indian Ocean territories. Her approach focuses on building teams based on respect, trust, and innovation.

The Board expressed confidence in the appointment. "Heba Capdevila's extensive experience, strategic vision and people-focused leadership will be major assets in realising Medine's long-term vision." they stated in the official communiqué.

Capdevila participates actively in community organisations. She is involved with Soroptimist International Port Louis and the Mauritius Institute of Directors, particularly in women's leadership forums.

Medine Limited operates in property development, agriculture, and education sectors. The company has been listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius since 1999.
